DC MCBs & Enclosures
DC rated MCBs are extremely useful on off-grid power systems as they offer both isolation and over-current protection in one unit. They can be used for battery banks, inverters and some solar pv arrays.
When selecting an MCB, be aware of the DC voltage limit on the device and ensure that this isn't exceeded, even when the batteries are at full charge in cold conditions, which on a 48V battery bank could be as high as 60V.
Also, some solar pv arrays are wired to a high voltage, in which case you'll need to use fuses & a DC solar isolator.
