Battery Protection - LVD
Low Voltage Disconnect (LVD) devices protect your battery bank from serious damage due to over-discharge, and sensitive loads from damage due to over-voltage.
An LVD is an essential component on any remote un-monitored off-grid power system. Some smaller solar charge controllers include an LVD circuit. Most larger controllers require a separate LVD. All reputable inverters have a low voltage shut-down feature and therefore an external LVD is not recommended.
These fully programmable units from Alfatronix also feature an alarm circuit, which can be used for remote monitoring. Models of 40A or over also have a very useful remote switch feature.
