The 24V 230Ah Gen2 uses carefully matched LiFePO₄ prismatic cells arranged to produce a 25.6V nominal pack with enough capacity to support meaningful off‑grid use while staying manageable in size and weight. LiFePO₄’s flat discharge curve, efficiency and resilience to partial cycling make it a strong choice for systems that see regular everyday use, from cabins and boats through to small commercial installations. A 300A smart BMS oversees cell voltages, pack voltage, current and temperature, stepping in quickly if over‑charge, over‑discharge, over‑current or short‑circuit events occur.
Like the rest of the Gen2 family, this model benefits from improved current measurement and control hardware. The internal shunt feeds high‑resolution current data into the BMS so SOC and amp‑hour throughput are calculated with far better accuracy than voltage‑only solutions. This gives you confidence when planning energy use – you can see clearly how much capacity remains and how the pack has been treated over time. All this information is available in the Fogstar app via Bluetooth, showing live pack values, per‑cell voltages, temperature readings and recent protection events.
Cold‑temperature operation is handled automatically. If the cells are too cold for safe charging, the BMS will block charge until the integrated heater has raised temperatures into the acceptable band, at which point normal charging can resume. That behaviour is particularly useful in unheated sheds, lockers and marine spaces where temperatures can drop below freezing. The enclosure is designed for typical leisure and light‑commercial duty, with an IP rating suitable for damp environments and a mechanical design that tolerates vibration and movement.
