Fogstar Energy IP65 48.3kWh LiFePO₄ Modular Battery Stack, 51.2V 942Ah
The Fogstar Energy 48.3kWh modular battery stack is a 51.2V (48V class) IP65 LiFePO₄ lithium battery for off-grid solar, backup power and commercial storage. It combines 3 x 16.1kWh modules with a stack control panel and base, giving you a sealed, heated battery with built-in fire suppression that can be installed outdoors or in an unheated outbuilding, and expanded as your demand grows.

IP65 battery for outdoor and cold-weather installation
Each module is a sealed IP65 enclosure, so the stack does not need a dedicated battery room. Integrated heaters allow the cells to charge in cold conditions and the batteries discharge down to -20°C, which makes garages, plant rooms and outbuildings practical through a UK winter. A heat-activated aerosol suppression unit in every module responds automatically to a thermal event, and the 350A breaker on the control panel gives a safe point of isolation for maintenance.
Expandable modular battery storage
You can start with 48.3kWh and add further modules later, up to 64.4kWh in one stack, using our 16.1kWh expansion module. The control panel, LCD touchscreen and 350A breaker are already part of the stack, so adding capacity means adding a module rather than replacing the battery. Compatible 48V inverters: Victron, Sunsynk, LuxPower and Solis
The stack communicates over CAN and RS485, and Fogstar list compatibility with Victron, Sunsynk, LuxPower, Solis, Voltacon and other 48V inverters. On Victron systems it connects by CAN-bus to a Cerbo GX (using the CAN-bus BMS LV profile), so charge and discharge limits are managed through DVCC. For other brands, check the inverter's supported battery protocols before ordering.

Weight, dimensions and installation
Each module weighs 148kg and measures 830mm x 450mm x 449mm (L x W x H). 3 modules come to 444kg before the control panel and base. Plan access and lifting equipment before delivery. When installing, connect all negative connections before the positive.

Frequently asked questions
Can this battery be installed outdoors?
Yes. The modules are IP65 rated, which protects against dust and water jets, and they include heating for cold weather. Follow the installation manual for mounting and clearances.
Does it work with Victron inverters?
Yes. It connects to a Victron Cerbo GX over CAN-bus so the battery can control charging and discharging. It also supports other common 48V inverter brands over CAN or RS485.
Can I add more capacity later?
Yes. Each stack takes up to four 16.1kWh modules, and the expansion module is supplied with the cables for the upgrade.
