Steca PF240 - High Efficiency Off-Grid 12V & 24V DC Fridge / Freezer
Selecting a super-efficient fridge or freezer for an off-grid power system reduces the size of battery bank, inverter and solar pv array required - thus having multiple cost benefits throughout the system.
Recognising this, Steca who have been building electronics for the solar industry since 1990 - set out on a mission to create the most efficient fridge freezer design they could produce. They eliminated the need for an inverter, and it's associated power conversion losses. The chest-type design means that the cold air is retained when the door is opened. Finally, the use of extra thick insulation means that the cold stays inside for longer.
As a result, the Steca PF240 is one of the most efficient DC energy-saving refrigerator ever to be developed. It can be used as either a fridge or a freezer. The Steca PF range comes in two models, the larger PF240 and the smaller PF166.
